Working with Tribal Nations
Perpetua Resources works with Tribal nations through an approach grounded in respect, listening, and long-term relationship building. This work recognizes Tribal sovereignty and the cultural and historical significance of the Stibnite area. Our engagement is focused on understanding perspectives, priorities, and so we may build candid and trusted relationships over time. These relationships are evolving, not defined by a single moment or milestone.
How We Engage
Tribal Access Program
The Tribal Access Program supports Tribal member access to the Stibnite site for hunting, fishing, cultural activities, and traditional ceremonies. Access is coordinated in advance and follows safety protocols designed to protect both visitors and active operations.
Programmatic Agreement
The Programmatic Agreement defines how cultural and historic properties are identified, managed, and protected over the life of the project. Developed in coordination with Tribal nations and federal agencies, it outlines processes for mitigation, documentation, and ongoing compliance with preservation standards.
Tribal Cultural Monitoring Program
The Tribal Cultural Monitoring Program provides for Tribal monitors to be present during project activities near cultural and historic sites. Monitors, nominated by their respective Tribes, work alongside agency specialists to help ensure activities remain within approved areas and avoid impacts to protected resources.
Tribal Environmental Observation Program
The Tribal Environmental Observation Program supports Tribal observation of project activities related to environmental compliance and permitting. Observers have visibility into pre-construction and construction work, contributing to transparency and ongoing oversight.
Scholarships
The scholarship program provides educational support for Tribal members, helping expand access to training, education, and long-term opportunity. These efforts are intended to support participation in regional workforce and economic development over time.
